When there’s a winery store within distance from you, wouldn’t you rather buy your wines there instead of a grocery store? Here are a few reasons buying wine from a winery is the better choice:
COST. A winery’s store will offer the best prices, cheaper than the cost of it at a grocery store. Plus, there is a better chance you’ll get discounts for bulk purchases. You’ll probably even be allowed to sample some wines before making a purchase. What grocery store will let you do that?
HELPFUL INPUT. Grocery store employees won’t be as helpful to you as winery employees will in terms of making an informed decision and purchase based on your wine likes. Winery store employees (maybe some are licensed sommeliers) are educated and knowledgeable about the wines they sell there. Grocery store employees will tell you where the wine aisle is, but won’t be able to tell you about the grapes that were used in making a particular wine.
EXPERIENCE. Buying wine from a winery is a more immersive experience and very unlike walking through the grocery store. You can spend leisure time at a winery doing a wine tasting, having a meal, even just relaxing out on the patio with some friends. Wineries are all about hospitality and wine education. Any visit to the winery is quite fun!
