Paso Robles is one of California’s “wine countries” located in Central California (the other big one being Napa Valley, of course!). There are hundreds of wineries and gorgeous vineyards. Most wineries there will have the same general story of Paso Robles being their home. But there is one location that has a more unique and very impressive history.
San Antonio Winery has a tasting room location and vineyards in the Paso Robles area, but they call Los Angeles home. The Los Angeles location has been running continuously since 1917 – yep, even during Prohibition when other wineries had to close. San Antonio Winery had an established relationship with the church to produce sacramental wines. Today, San Antonio Winery is Los Angeles’ urban winery, and so the Paso location is Paso Robles’ urban winery.
It’s impossible to visit every winery in Paso Robles in one, two, even three trips but one that is an absolute MUST-visit is San Antonio Winery Paso Robles, the urban winery.
