In 1986, we at Riboli Family Wines began farming vineyards in the heart of Napa Valley’s Rutherford appellation. Located along the Silverado Trail, the area is known for its rich, clay-loam soils and gentle slope, which make it ideal for the production of structured, full-bodied wines. Blending clones of Cabernet Sauvignon and a small selection of Petit Verdot, we’ve created a wine with superior complexity and depth than others of its kind. Handcrafted in limited quantities, each bottle is a celebration of the many generations of our winemaking family.
The Rutherford appellation of Napa Valley is renowned for its prized soil, also known as “Rutherford dust”. The well-drained soils of this region are composed of gravel, loam, and sand with volcanic deposits and marine sediments. The Rutherford soil imparts distinct characters to our Riboli Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.
Napa Valley has developed an incredible reputation for world-class Cabernet Sauvignon. In particular, the Rutherford appellation has truly excelled with this variety. Located within this prestigious appellation, our estate vineyard’s unique soils and ideal climate create our flagship wine: Riboli Family Vineyard.
4th generation winemaker Anthony Riboli received his M.S. in Viticulture from the University of California, Davis and joined the family business in 1998.
